European Commission Publishes Q3 2026 CBAM Certificate Price

5 oktober 2026

DG TAXUD has officially published the Q3 2026 CBAM certificate price at €82.32, which will apply to emissions embedded in goods imported during this quarter.

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) has officially calculated and published the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) certificate price for the third quarter of 2026.

The official price for Q3 2026 is set at €82.32 per certificate.

This price is calculated by the Commission during the first calendar week following the end of the relevant quarter, based on publicly available information related to EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) auctions. The methodology determines the price as the weighted average of the auction clearing prices of the auctioned EU ETS allowances, ensuring consistency between the carbon cost borne by EU domestic producers and the cost applied to imported goods subject to CBAM.

For businesses and importers mapping their financial obligations, this newly published Q3 2026 price will apply specifically to the sales of CBAM certificates corresponding to emissions in CBAM goods imported into the Union during that respective quarter.

The Commission also reiterated the timeline for purchasing these certificates, confirming that all CBAM certificates will be purchased on the common central platform from February 2027 onwards.
